Insight, Strategy, and Support for Every Stage.
The Silicon Valley Developmental Support Network (SVDSN) is a centralized resource dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental differences and their families through every phase of life. We provide strategic insights, comprehensive resources, and a supportive community hub designed to help navigate the complexities of developmental needs and achieve uncompromised potential.
A Legacy of Trailblazing Support
Our mission is deeply inspired by decades of dedicated advocacy in the Bay Area. The origins of SVDSN are built on the shoulders of the original Silicon Valley Down Syndrome Network—a grassroots, nonprofit organization founded in the 1990s to connect and support families facing a Down syndrome diagnosis.
We are honoring the trailblazing efforts of the founders and members who established a vital local network for educational, medical, and social support. Their commitment to building strong community connections and advocating for individual needs remains the foundation of who we are today.
Our Pivot: From Local Network to Strategic Resource
While our roots are deeply local and specific, the challenges faced by families—from financial planning and educational advocacy to caregiver wellness and housing—are universal.
This pivot to a broader media and resource focus allows us to leverage our three decades of experience and expertise. SVDSN now provides:
- Strategic Insight: Data-driven content and actionable advice on navigating policy, finance, and transition planning across the state and beyond.
- Comprehensive Resources: Expert-vetted information on inclusive technology, health, and wellness for the entire neurodivergent community.
- Community Connection: A continued commitment to fostering strong networks, sharing success narratives, and promoting neurodiversity across all sectors.
We are proud to carry forward the spirit of the original network, expanding our reach to ensure that every individual and family has the insight, strategy, and support they need to define their own success
